Richard K. Saltz M.D. was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in North Woodmere, Long Island. He graduated with honors from Bucknell University.
Dr. Saltz received his medical training at Georgetown University School Of Medicine in Washington D.C. and he graduated with honors.
Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society, selected Dr. Saltz for early membership as a junior medical student.
Following medical school, Dr. Saltz completed Internship and Residency programs in Internal Medicine at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center.(now known as Columbia Presbyterian-Cornell Medical Center).
Fellowship training in Gastroenterology was completed at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center/ Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was a recipient of the National Institutes of Health Interinstitutional Nutrition Research Training Grant, and was a Research Fellow at Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research
Dr. Saltz is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Saltz is licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Florida (inactive) and New York (inactive).
Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Miami School of Medicine/FAU Campus until moving to Texas in September 2006. Lectures given to medical students on Colon polyps/Colon Cancer and Geriatrics and the GI Tract.
